The Marriage Course
The Marriage Course is a 7-week course for married couples to invest in enriching their marriage.
The next course starts on 26 April. Registrations are now closed.
The course costs $75 per person ($150 per couple) for the 7 weeks. Full payment is required on the first night. Registrations are limited to the first 9 couples.
What can you expect from the course?
The course takes place over seven evenings. Each session includes:
Safe and comfortable atmosphere at Church by the Bridge giving you space to relax and chat. You will be served tea/coffee and dessert.
Practical talks that are informative and fun, played on DVD. They include filmed clips of couples sharing their own experiences and street interviews from around the world. Key topics include:
1. Building strong foundations
2. The art of communication
3. Resolving conflict
4. The power of forgiveness
5. The impact of family (past and present)
6. Good sex
7. Love In action
Private discussion time as a couple. You will be given topics to discuss (sometimes with the help of an exercise). Music is played so you can’t hear surrounding couples and they can’t hear you!
No group work, so relax - you will not have to share anything about your relationship with anyone else.
Homework. At the end of each session you are given some homework to do together. This will help you to build on what you have learnt and give you the opportunity to apply it to your relationship. Don’t worry - it won’t be marked! It isn’t looked at by anyone else and is just for your own benefit.
The cost of the course is $150 per couple and includes a Guest Manual for each person, as well as tea/coffee and dessert each week. The course will be facilitated by a married couple, Bridget and Derek Higgo. Derek is also a professional counsellor.
