The launch of Sunday at 6pm (Lavender Bay)

25 March

God has been very kind to us over the past 6 years in graciously growing our little church plant of 42 people to the current 5 congregations. This weekend we launch our 6th congregation meeting at Lavender Bay on Sunday at 6pm. This is our first ‘off-site’ plant and I am deeply thankful to Patrick Collins (rector) and his congregation at Christ Church Lavender Bay for their generosity in allowing us to use their building. Let me answer some FAQs:

1) Why are we planting this church?

i) To reach new people in the McMahons Point/Waverton area.
ii) To create space in our existing congregations.
iii) To encourage more people to serve. Our history of planting congregations has shown that whenever we start something new, people in the existing services step up to serve.

2) Who’s going?

There was an open invitation for people to join us and 38 people volunteered. The people God has drawn together are humble, eager, servants with a willingness to ‘give things a go’.

3) Who will lead the congregation?

I have been seeking an additional assistant minister since last July, and God is yet to provide the right person. I am not anxious, just totally dependent on God for his perfect provision and perfect timing. In the short term, I will be pastoring this service with the support of preachers including Mark Smith, Ronaldo Sanchez, Simon Jackson and Tim Clemens.

4) Is this congregation still part of Church by the Bridge?

Yes! The 10am service at Lavender Bay is a flourishing, warmly inviting church family. They have graciously allowed us to use their building, but the 6pm service will remain under the leadership of Kirribilli.

5) How can we pray?

For humility, for God’s grace to be poured out on many who are lost, for harmony & unity in our church family, for faithful preaching and leadership, and for joy in our Lord Jesus.

With love
Paul Dale (Senior Pastor)
