Our prayers are often revealing.  Pouring out our hearts to God, our passions are revealed.  In the garden of Gethsemene, under the most intense pressure, Jesus pours out his heart in prayer: ‘Father, if you are willing, take this cup from me; yet not my will, but yours be done’.  What it reveals is a passion for faithfulness.  Christ is shown faithful – even when abandoned, even when he knows the suffering that awaits.  Jesus chooses to be faithful.  And for unfaithful people like us, this is a massive comfort.
