When Jesus saw the crowds he had compassion on them, because they were harassed and helpless, like sheep without a shepherd.  Jesus’ compassionate response is to throw open the gates of his kingdom and invite more in.  Looking at the Lord’s response, we are faced with a choice: ‘Will you live a compassionate life?'
