Full and free acceptance

Galatians 3:1-4:7

Knowing who we are matters - & we who are in Christ are nothing less than ‘sons of God’. Paul’s defence of true Christian freedom crescendos: Justification makes it clear we are accepted by God. But adoption as sons shows the depth of our acceptance. As J I Packer put it: ‘Adoption is the highest privilege that the gospel offers: higher even than justification… Justification is a forensic idea, conceived in terms of law, and viewing God as judge.
