Freedom from the meritocracy
Galatians 2
The pressure to ‘be good enough’ & to earn your place in this world can be an immense pressure. Even heavier is the weight to be good enough to earn merit before God. As Paul continues to call the Galatians back to the gospel of grace, he recalls previous problems of pressure to ‘do works’ & the great gospel comfort ‘that we know that a man is not justified by observing the law, but by faith in Jesus Christ’. In that truth, we who are in Christ are freed from the weight of credentials & reputation.
